What kind of contribution were you thinking about?

Also, how big is that ISO?

I can help on games discussions and some uncommon trick in games. like, to get max luck at begining playing as Joao Franco just donate the money to chruch the 2nd time visit on day one.
In short, getting the forum and party on this website started.

the cd-iso is abount 600-700 mb, one CD only. There is also an enhanced version that adds 3 more character, plus the original 4 adds-up to 7 character. Please contact me that anyone or group wants to do it. I can do the translation after they get to decode the event files content.

Yes, I am definitely interested in compiling a lot of information like that into the "Guide" section of the site.

Perhaps we can put a bunch of smaller hints/tips like that into one article. Then if any others arise in the future, we can post a Part II or something like that.

You can email me personally using the contact form or by emailing greg (at) grinc.org (had to break it up like that just in case a spam bot comes along trying to harvest email addresses from message boards)

As for the ISO image, I'd like to at least get a copy of it somehow and then we can go from there. 600-700 megs like that is too big to upload to this particular website, but if you contact me personally I'm sure we could come up with a solution. (for example, I've got an FTP site that could handle that kind of size)

It requires a lot of work to translate a game, especially if the game uses compression scheme. I'm not an experience programmer, but at a glance at some of the files, the unicode texts are compressed. You'll need to find a diehard fan whos a seasoned programmer, at ASM level, and is willing to spend countless hours to reverse the compression algorithm to have any progress at all.

Even if you find one, you'll need to find a translator whos willing to translate over 50,000 lines of dialogues - the typical amount in games based heavily on text.

And to the poster who asked is there Uncharted Waters 3&4. Yes, there are is. Uncharted Waters 3 was a DOS game; Uncharted Waters 4 was for Windows and has a really nice opening movie. Both never made it to America.

@Greg: A wiki would accomplish that, but the community needs to grow larger for it to be efficient, plus I'm not sure how you'll incorporate or even possible to incorporate a wiki.

A FYI, if you don't know what's a wiki:
A wiki is a site where every visitor can edit and modify the pages to add onto the contents of the site.

Example of wikis:

Yeah, I have the ability to do something on here that is similar to a wiki - where I can assign certain users to be able to post articles while others cannot. So I suppose if anyone would be interested in having this ability, they can contact me and we can probably set that up.

And as for the ISO, even if it would be awhile before someone would translate, I would still like to have the ISO, especially just in case I happen to be able to hire someone who could do it - it'd be good to have on hand.

I have a feeling you live in Hong Kong ;).

It'll be nice to find someone whose willing to crack the compression scheme, since we have a translator whose willing to work on script translation. Damn, I long to play the game since back in the year 2000 or so. Fell in love with the game when I laid my eyes on the box's art.

On the side note, all the site's pictures are down including the smiley faces. ๐Ÿ™
