I might as well start up in this place since everyone here seems so cool.

I tried that World of Pirates game (www.WorldofPirates.com) when it was in beta testing but it was buggy and boring, and apparently still is even after the release.

I signed up to test Pirates of the Burning Sea (www.PiratesoftheBurningSea.com), it looks cool.

I hadn't played New Horizons since back in the day when I rented it from Blockbuster. A couple of times I searched game stores for the title, but when even funco didn't carry snes or genesis anymore, i lost hope. I wasn't too desperate as to order the game online, I was more curious at the time. I since moved in with my brother for a year while my girlfriend gets through the education program at ASU (she isn't allowed to work while in this program) and it turns out my brother has an x-box with a modification wherein it has a slurry of old games on a number of systems like genesis, snes, nes, etc. After getting bored with General Chaos, and everyone leaving late one night I thought up some old games that I might play by myself, New Horizons (snes) among them.

Ok now, ho-ly crap! I am so damn addicted it's unbelievable, and due to my new school/work hours I seem to have a lot of free time to waste. And waste it I DO. I was pleased that Greg (I assume) had available the snes guide, which helped me to figure some stuff I hadn't considered; and further my addiction to an all out problem...

I will make amends to my thievery one day. I heard that the next nintendo system is going to offer download (with payment) of nes and snes games. I justify myself now by bitching that it isn't already available.

Anyhow, I apologize if anyone hoped to find anything useful in this post, I just wanted to say hi, this site looks fantastic, and wish good fortune to players. I am otto baynes right now -- named Bacon n Eggs. Otto likes that, he says "Bacon n Eggs. Mmmm, sounds good."

Hey,

Glad you like the site and was able to get the manual off it that helped out so much. I made that PDF myself a number of years ago, and when I was going to make this site, I saw it on my computer just sitting there not doing anyone any good so I decided to put it on the site for all to see and hopefully benefit from. For a PDF of its size, its kindof big but I really could not do it any other way due to how I had to scan it in and then do the conversion to PDF.

I've been saying for YEARS that Nintendo has a vast wealth of old games they COULD be tapping into but for some bizarre reason, have failed to do so. Why not stop trying to make all these big expensive crazy games and go back to the basics? They're already finished and there is a rabid nostalgia market that is growing rapidly every single month, year, whatever.

Heck, I've seen copies of UWNH go on eBay for $70...thats more than it was brand new!!...my boxed copy, perfect and still has the box, manual, poster, and everything should be worth a lot on that basis alone. People clearly WANT this stuff...so why not give it to them?

Finally the movie studios have realized they have huge vaults full of things people would love to see on DVD, so why should the case for old video games be any different?

They're sitting on a gold mine in their own backyard and didn't even realize it.
