Hi fellow UnchartedWatersians. πŸ˜€

I haven't been active in a while but I still love UW New Horizon.

I recently saw a great movie called The Admiral: Roaring Currents.

It's about Yi Sun-sin (Korean Admiral) who defeated a Japanese army of 333 ships (133 warships + 200 support and transport ships)with 13 warships called Panokseon.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panokseon

The Japanese warships were Atakabune. I got to see them in action in this movie.

Right after watching it I went to wikipedia to learn about this guy and I discovered that Tekkoussens are actually larger Atakabune but reinforced using iron plating.

These used to be my favorite ships in the game but now I wish there were also panokseon. Those ships can turn on a dime because of their flat hull, making them deadly during combat since they can accommodate many cannons on both sides.

The disadvantage is the slower speed though.

Anyway that's what I had to share. πŸ™‚

BTW, the Korean admiral didn't lose any ships but the Japanese lost 31. πŸ˜€

Wow that's really nice, thanks for the info! I'll probably watch this movie late, looks really good. You know, there are a lot of ships I wish we had in UWNH, like the Fu treasure ship for example.

That does sound interesting!

I've always liked the Japanese ships in NH. I think I've mentioned that I start some games by forcing a trip to those ports. (not recommended too early). The Atakabune is a perfect ship for exploration, and CHEAP! The Tekk is my favorite warship, I like a used one for the flagship (360 crew, 80 guns, rest cargo).

Any information that I provide is based on the SNES version unless otherwise specified. I have thousands of hours into New Horizons and I have played it since it was released in the US on the SNES.

Yeah Netflix has some great movies.
The turtle ship would be fun to have as well. πŸ™‚

As much as I like the Tekk. I enjoy my games more when I use sloops against stronger ships because it's way harder but rewarding when you win. 😎
It's possible to defeat a fleet with 180 crew each using 40 crew per ships but it's really hard. I did it a few times but I usually lose 80% of my crew at the end. πŸ˜€
