Hello, Mark! It's hard for me to deal with the translation and to understand everything fully. But I think you are on the right path to enlighten us about sea monsters and their coordinates.

Hi, I'm new here, but, I think that it should be noted that, I have played the SNES version of New Horizons over 20 times, I can safely say that the Blue Light on the southwestern coast of Africa and the Mermaids in the river right before Belgrade happen always. I will admit, I have only seen the Tornado disaster once, and have never seen the squid, which I have been aware of existing, and the whales, which I have never known about until today. Might I see screenshots of those?

Surprise surprise, I have actually been aware of this fandom for years. Found it originally a while back when looking for walkthroughs for New Horizons. Since then it has become one of my favorite games of all time.
Also, thanks for the welcome

The St. Elmo's Fire by Africa's Kalahari & Belgrade syreen happen ALWAYS? You mean once you've been to those spots can be immediately again? It's never looked like that to me. But I have found it is possible to finish all 4 groups of 10, all 40 group by group, and then have the ones in the first group of 10 happen again, then the second, and,.... In other words, it's possible to keep cycling through all 40 over again as many times as you can travel to the locations before 1554. That's why I encourage a plan to see 9 out of each 10 skipping the Giant Squids especially--cycle through those a lot, and you can all get reduced to zero courage, very bad in battle.

What I mean always is that, whenever you go there, they are always going to be in the first set, but you cannot keep cycling through them to my knowledge

"Mandril," I take it you're new to this site. Well, near Madagascar it's definitely losing one ship, and that shouldn't have to mean losing the game, unless you planned things badly and came to desperately need that one ship. It's really not too hard to deal with that. Just stop in Sofala or Quelimaine before you can get close to that Madagascar spot, buy a cheap used ship, any type(light galley, tallette, hansa cog) and put minimal crew on it, then if you don't use the Re-Arrange command, it should be the last ship on your roster, and thus vanish instead of the ships you're more used to using. After you've had that cheap used ship serve its role as "cannon fodder" or "fog fodder," you can go back by Madagascar any time without fear that may happen again, because you've already exploded the event. That firey phoenix near Timbuktu just makes you need repairs, if you didn't bring any lumber paying Timbuktu's shipyard will do. If you meet the ghost-ship near Narvik, you have two choices--1.) make a series of visits to the Round Earth Society donating half of 8,000 g.p. or less while most of your cash is in the bank, or 2.) Be one of those players who just doesn't care about luck(you may need to buy lots of Balm that way, though, and you have a strict limit of 20 total items).
