Here are more titles. I found them at my local public library, I ended up buying some of them off Amazon.com.

1- The Knights of the Order (the story of the Knights of St-John from Jerusalem to Rhodes to Malta) by Ernle Bradford.
2- Venice, a Maritime Republic by Frederic C. lane
3- The Sultan's Admiral; the life of Barbarossa by Ernle Bradford
4- The great betrayal; The Story of the 4th Crusade also by Ernle Bradford.
Also check the http://www.archive.org site
for free e-books in many formats such as ePub,mobi, pdf, texts, html,djVu,etc.

Yeah, I had a good time doing mine and I still read about it. One subject brings you to another then you want to know more and more.
I read about every explorers, including Marco Polo and Zheng He who supposedly circumnavigated the World before the Europeans.
Then I studied about the Ottoman Empire, the Crusades, the Knights of St-Johns, the Mongols (were indirectly related to the Caravan, and Silk roads that were also connected to the Spice roads (mostly by waterways).
Also, the ports on the Black Sea were important because of the war between the Turks and the Mameluke, merchants had to use different terrestrial roads to avoid Beirut for example, they had to go around and established the port of Trebizond and Azov.
The Turks, by taking Constantinople, practically cut this road from the Venetians that had to negotiate with the Ottoman Empire. Those same Venetians (the Doge) are in good part responsible for the fall of Constantinople (read about the 4th Crusade).
I mean there's no end to it and that's why it's so fascinating.

You know I think the was the whole point behind KOEI's rekoition series. It was to get us involved with the history of the times. To appreciate the events that occurred by doing our own research and so on. I love 'em for that. The romance of the 3 kingdoms, nobunagas ambition, uncharted waters...

I think I learned a lot more history after I started playing these games than I did in any of my history classes. :p

Any information that I provide is based on the SNES version unless otherwise specified. I have thousands of hours into New Horizons and I have played it since it was released in the US on the SNES.

Recently has engaged in study of the version UWNH on the emulator SNES. There is a set of insignificant differences in the diagram, sound. At once has found out, that at prompting a telescope on port, he is not shown to what state concerns.
