Guessed wrong! :p

I do like strategy games based in space and with trading it is even better. I'll definitely look into it.

It is amazing how many games have similar/same titles!

Any information that I provide is based on the SNES version unless otherwise specified. I have thousands of hours into New Horizons and I have played it since it was released in the US on the SNES.

Star Control II is an excellent non linear RPG I loved, except less replayable than UW2. It is a great classic. Some similarities with UW2 and I am sure those who love UW2 will love it.

Pirates: Gold! was also a good RPG game for the PC.

Has anyone ever played Merchant Colony? It looks old, but it looks like something I might enjoy.

I played a version of Pirates that I think was called Cutthroat Island and then I played one of the versions of Pirates and they seemed to be basically the same game. You can't really do much with trade in that game...if I recall correctly. It is more about getting in good with a ruler/governor (or something along that line) and getting maps to ridiculous amounts of treasure. Am I remembering correctly?

"Conquest of the New World: deluxe edition" is a good one as well. It builds your world so it can change every time. There are some fun ways to manipulate the map and amount of money to start with. Also a funny quirk in the trading can amass a great sum in a short time. It also has an ineresting fight scenario that can be fun.

That looks like it would be a good game. I have a pretty big backlog of games at the moment, but I think I will have to get that game.

There was an add on called "Righteous Fire" which continued where the first left off and a "Privateer 2" which was much different - but a good attempt at updating the graphics and taking advantage of newer and more

I just finished a Shingen the Ruler game.
I still enjoy playing this game.
I conquered Japan in 1567. Nobunaga is a pain in the butt to crush. Fortunately, he only had two territories when I started fighting him but he was at level 55 and I was at 35!
I continuously attacked him from three territories
until he retreated to his last one.
Fortunately, he made the mistake to attack me twice so I waited for him in the castle and eliminated his riflemen (his real power).
After 5 attacks I got him but since it was my last battle I didn't care how many soldiers I'd lose ( I lost all my infantry, half of my lancers, half my HQ and 1/4 of my cavalry.
His darn Elite guards (HQ soldiers) are tough to kill! ๐Ÿ˜€

That's great!

Yeah, those levels make it tough.

I truly enjoy these old games! Considering that Shingen the Ruler is an 8 bit game, it's amazing how much fun it can be!
I've got to try Bandit Kings, it's been so long since I played it. This new emulator might be able to play my three copies, they all failed with my other emulators. L'Empereur is another one I like a lot.

I can't believe it's been been such a long time.
Wasn't the first RTK released in the middle 80's?

I think I want to be buried with my old games when I die! ๐Ÿ˜€
