Post no duel battle on PC Version

what do you mean you can't duel battle? Do you mean you cannot ask for duel in battle? Or pirates reject your duel request? I have no problems with duels. If you are rejected, it is only because either your ship is sinking soon, or you do not have enough men on ship.

I can work around it but sometimes you just can't avoid a duel and it is immensly irritating to have the game crash with no chance of recovery every time to duel. If anyone has ideas let me know, ihave tried redownloading the file and reinstalling with no success.

I fixed my problem by being sure to run the game in dosbox instead of directly out of the games directory. It took me a bit to figure out, but I haven't had problems since. 🙂

- rightclick the file you use to run the game eg. koei.com
- select properties (bottom)
- you should see tabs at the top of new window (general;font;memory...)
- select memory

- where it says EMS memory, use that 'dropdown button' to set it to auto.
while ur at it, do the same for XMS.

windows if ur a windows user.. linus.. etc.

once installed, its quite simple to use:

eg. your dosgames is in C:/dosg/*.*

run dosbox; type in it:
> mount X C:/dosg <enter>
> X: <enter>

> dir/w<enter>
gives a list of files there

> cd gamefoldername eg. cd uwaters<enter>

> dir/w<enter>
gives a list of files there

> Koei<enter>
will run koei.com or .bat or .exe

simple dos commands..

I'm getting really frustrated with this because, as much as i like ali, i've already beaten the game, dominated the globe and maxed out all his stats at least a dozen times in the past few months, and i'd really like to be able to play Jaio or Catalina for a change. Do I need to make a disk for dosbox to recognise the game or what?
