Eastpolar's faq says you need 70 intuition to learn Celestial Navigation. I just visited the good Prof. and he told me I needed 80 Knowledge, so I assume you need both. Since most of my mates already had this requirement, I assume I can only learn skills myself? Its impossible to teach mates skills right?

Yes it is impossible to have your mates learn the skills but rather than yourself. It should be default for example Mates with a bookeeping skill always a bookkeeper and the wording will be in bold.
