Post Guild members forgetting contracts?

Hey, I just bought this game last week (after much encouragement from a friend of mines) and am very surprised at how good it is - I'm absolutly loving it!

Anyway, I have one question. Recently, I've been having a strange problem... I'd sign up for a mission at the Guild, go to do the mission, and come back to find that the contracter 'forgot' about it. This happened three times so far, once with a mission to buy goods (got to keep a 15000 gold advance and sell the goods as a result) and two debt collecting missions (which was especially annoying, since it took forever to track the guys down.) Anyway, is this is a specific problem, anyone else encountered this, or what? This has only happened very, very recently (lets say the last year of game time), and didn't occur before. So, anyone have any ideas?

You were probably assigned the job in another port. Check your Journal, maybe you will find some answers there.

No... its nothing like that. I figured it out a while ago, it seems that the game would forget a current job after being shut down (i.e. it wouldn't save it.) Being assigned the job would appear in the journal, however. So essentially I would have stuff written like "Undertook a mission to defeat 3 pirates in 3 months" but no completion unless I finished that job in the current playing session. This didn't USED to happen, but I guess I've spent so long in the game (10 years game time) that the game just can't remember all of the stuff (though this is the only thing which seems to be affected, port economy, influence, those things aren't affected at all.) Once again this is the SUPER NES version of the game.
