hi all!

in 1996 i was addicted to this game so much, playing all the characters based on 'scenario'. i think ali's adventure is the most interesting and exciting, second is joao, pietro, catalina, ernst, and otto.

now i'm playing it again, but since i download the game from a free-link via google, i can't hear a music from it. anyone can help me how to set up the music there?

top sailor (i'd always recruit them):
- gus johnson (athens)
- colin lowe (british merchant fleet)
- raphael selran (portugeese fleet)

btw, it's good to see this site. like it so much. sorry for my english.

what top sailors you guys always recruit?

😉

Hey Heny,
Yea I like Gus Johnson too, he's lot of skills and his attributes go up really quickly, he seem to predict storms very well too!

Can I ask you how u get those sailors from other fleets? Whenever I defeated them, they just go back to their home port (eg. colin lowe back to London) after a day or so with their old job back again, have i done something wrong?

hi yip!

first make sure you have gained high experience (in battle or navigation), may be about level 27 or more, so they would join your ship.
every sailors you attacked will automatically become vagabond sailors in that month, so make sure also you attack them not in the end of the month.
both of the sailors (colin and raphael, and others) after you attack them, save the game and visit nearest port. go to pub and gossip about any vagabond sailors they told to you. if there no gossips about sailor you've attacked where he lives, load the game again and go to another port, until you find them and so on.

it's no use visit london after antwerp, for instance. cos the gossip will result the same. eg, after antwerp, visit lisbon or seville, than algiers, etc. (northern europe / iberia / north africa, etc.)

i hope this information is useful.

😉

by the way, i'd ever played joao until he reach age about 40. at that time, i've recruited pirate kahn and leis. many new pirates have shown up, one of them named alexandria or something like that. but got no chance of recruiting him since no gossips exists. anyone ever recruit this sailor?

🙂

Hi Heny,
Thanks for the advice. Can I clarify a point with you?
When you say gossip, do u mean: go to pub --> buy everyone a round of drinks --> some random folk come up and say "so and so in where is looking for a job" that sort of gossip?

Pilly Reis!

what can i say? he has bird's ability, master of cartography, amazing precision in shooting carronades, very handy bookkeeping, and also a cheapmaker.

i like simon sekeira too. but i never want to hire him. just attack him, again and again, for fun, for boosting up my battle level quickly.

you know why? because simon sekeira is a special character. his level will always have a bigger number than yours by 1.

for example, if you attack him when your char level is 40, simon's level will be 41. yours are 60, he's 61. and so on ..

Vittorio Doria (Italy)

They are the best of the Best......

To recruit Roberto Ezequiel u must play as Otto Baynes because he is the Spanish Invincible fleet commander. 👿

Post Carronades and Goddess Figureheads

if you want to get Goddess figureheads, first of all your luck must be 100, then you need to have an allied port completely built to 1000/1000, and be willing to spend 50,000 for them. To get your luck to 100, just donate money to either your church(PC) or the round earth society. The best way I've found to do this is to have 1000 gold, donate 500, then 250, then 125, then Max. this should raise your luck by about 40 points. do this three times and no matter how bad your luck was to begin with, it will almost surely be 100 when youre done. To find out, just visit the fortune teller and look for the message "what a strong fortune, you have nothing to fear in this life" under the life option. Once you have completed all these tasks and want the Goddess figurehead, just keep bugging the ship builder again and again until he offers you "We have a great selection today" This is not a garantee that he'll have the Goddess, but the Angel for sure. Usually you have to go through five or six offers for the angel before he'll offer the Goddess. I've also discovered that it's quicker to get it in power base cities, likke Antwerp, where you can get full-rigged ships, Dublin, where they make Barges and sloops, Hamburg, and even Bordeaux where you can build the best exploration ship there is, the La Reale. The key is to be persistant. Bug the little SOB until he gets pissed enough to offer the best he has. It's the same with the Carronade. Just keep bugging the shipwright until he coughs up the good stuff.
Good luck all, and enjoy.
