I hope you guys could help. Is there any way I could continue playing the character after finishing the game (story line)??
I used to play the chinese version of the game and they let u save just before the end game animations, and then u can use that save to carry on playing, but it doesn't seem to be the case in the english version. (I play the english version now coz the names just sound stupid when translated).

no.

in english version, there are two ways of ending. first, become a duke, and second, finishing the storyline.

only the first let you save the game just before the animations.

I was trying to get Otto the Navigation skill, but he hasn't had enough "Knowlegde" by the time I had finished the story line, I guess I'll just have to saill and explore the world a bit more and up his Knowledge level before going back to the King and finish the game.

celestial navigation skill needs 80 knowledge points AND 70 intuition points
cartography skill needs 80 knowledge points AND 75 intuition points

I give you a little help to boost up his knowledge.

save the game before your main character's level raise by 1. you could know this from experience points. sail a few day, and get leveling. when leveling, random statistics will be raised by 0, 1, or 2 points.

concentrate on knowledge, if your main character need that. if you see 0 point or only 1 point raised, load the game and repeat the process until you have 2 points raised.

I've found a way round it actually, it's by copying the save game file from the English version to the Chinese counterpart (I have both), and then run the game, before the game ending screens it allows you to save and that save file works in the English version too if you copy it back, then you can continue the game.

I'll just do that and get Otto to sail round the world, afterall playing his character you just attack the Spanish and pirates all the time without much sailing. Hopefully more sailing can get his Knowledage and Intutition up (he's a bit thick isn't he?), and I need to get some Tekkousens too.

Think you can't find it coz in order to do so, you have to put UW2 in Chinese in the search engine.
