Post Can't continue forward with Ernst...

I have ten pages of discoveries in my journal, all turned in to Mordes in Bordeaux. I've sailed around every continent, through the rivers, to the point where the only black parts on my map are in the middle of the oceas in small splotches or the middle of the continents. My adventure fame is only 4757. Mercator won't complete the map. Did I do something wrong, or am I missing something in particular?

You have to clear the whole map, including the oceans. Once your map display is complete and there are no black square, Mercator will confirm the map is completed.

it really does suck... chunk out maps and reduce your crew and sail in straight lines across oceans

I found you need to have at least every port and supply port discovered, also every coastline. So spend awhile criss-crossing the Pacific and Atlantic (Bermuda is in the game as a matter of fact) then try it again. Also, I've finished the game without the complete map, the real game is too find Paula'a home, which is a port in the yellow river in china. I think you have to get beyond a certain date before you start to get somewhere in the story, key thing is when Hans says he has had a lifelong dream to go to the golden country of Zipangu, which is Japan.

My Question is How long it take from he said" you to should get married " to " I want to go to Zinpangu " >?

or maybe i miss something in the game or you could tell me a trick please help >?

Hi
if your fame in adventure is only 4700 that's not enough
You have to pass 40000 to advance to final stages, for that you need around 40 discoveries a few with A or A*

If you have turned in all of the discoveries then you must have refused or failed the Ruler 's quests (which are not needed). Turning in all 10 pages of discoveries should get you more than 20,000 adventure fame. Discovering all of the ports, including supply ports, and villages should get you around 9,000 more fame. Reporting to Mercator will add another 40,000 total adventure fame when you have completed the map. If you have reported to him throughout the game then the completed map will be the remaining fame after being reduced by the previous fame given.

It sounds like you are really close to a completed map, but since you only have 4700 adventure fame and you have used the best ways of gaining fame...you are probably better off starting a new game if you want to see the intended story ending for Ernst.

In a new game stay away from the Ruler, you don't need him unless you plan to do a lot of trading. Or, you can raise your fame in trade or piracy and that will be the type of request he will make for you to gain ranks. As long as another type of fame is higher than adventure he will not ask for you discoveries, which would be the only thing that might be a problem (if he wants discoveries after you have turned them all in to the collector).

As stated in the post above, his last game event starts when you have around 40,000 fame in adventure, which will take more than all of your discoveries will give. The only way to get past the "get married" comments is to increase your adventure fame. *note: that applies to both questions.

At three characters in game: Joao Franco, Pietro Conti and Ernst Von Born it is best to open all map of the world. It is long, but that costs. The problems with a plot will not arise, and the king will begin to be interested in you constantly.

Though there are some cases to a plot. For example, at Catalina Erantzo if to accept citizenship of Spain in the beginning of game, the plot will not begin to move while she again does not become the pirate.

But, how can we overcome this obstacle? How can one defect to Piracy?

Defecting, or being forced into Piracy, will not advance your story unless you are playing as Catalina or as Otto. If you want to only do things that raise your piracy fame and you are playing as Joao, Ernst, or Pietro then there is no need to defect to Piracy, just attack fleets.

Actually, Catalina's game will advance as long as her piracy fame increases and it can still do that even as a citizen of Spain. There are two battle events that take place early in the game in her story and if you go to Seville and try to enter the castle after those events you can defect to Spain at that point and play the entire game...to the very last event as a citizen of Spain. If you defect before those events (after leaving Seville the first time) then those events won't happen, and they should happen very soon after leaving Seville so it is only the first month that she can't be a citizen of Spain.

If you are playing as someone other than Catalina or Otto, and you want to be "Loyal to Piracy" then attack the fleets of the country that you are loyal to...just know that you may not be able to finish that story.

For example, I often have Pietro get his first rank as Loyal to Italy just to be able to enter castles. He can get that rank through ANY fame that you like, but anyway, I then defect him to Portugal and raise his piracy fame until it is higher than the other two fames. At that point I get a Letter of Marque, just because I can, and then finish the game as Loyal to Portugal. If instead you simply started attacking the fleets of Italy, then eventually Italy would reject you and you would be Loyal to Piracy.

I'm not sure, but does that answer your questions?
