Post UWNH In HTML5

Hi All,

So I'm a 12 year web developer and I'm planning on re-making an MMO version of the classic game in HTML5 & jQuery so that it's mostly cross browser compatible, fast, you can play from anywhere, and you can play with friends. It also makes it easier to port it over to mobile based platforms like the Android or iPhone with as little amount of work as possible.

If anybody wants to help, artists, developers, etc, let me know.

Good luck carrying through with this. It's so not going to be easy.

I don't expect it to be. It'll be a challenge and I like challenges.

I hope I'll be able to play it on my Blackberry. Would be sooo awesome to have a game like this on it to play while I'm at work. Pirates for the BB sucks >.>

I'm just wondering if anybody really cares about a remake when we have Uncharted Waters Online in english now.

Considering some of us haven't been able to play UWO since the publisher is a complete joke of a company, I'd say there is interest in an alternative.

Yeah, the online version hasn't been sitting too well with me either. And yet, I see reviews about the game all the time where people are reviewing it and saying "I have friends who played UWNH and they all LOVE this online version" and I'm like "Really? Cause I went three straight days without being able to log on and then gave up on the game entirely"

And then there's the stuff they sell on the markets in the different ports. Like, seriously, you'll get one particular type of product in one port and then something totally different in a port less than 50 feet away. Wow, how does THAT work?

Anyways, I think you're right. I'm going to start making the alternative. It won't be anything fancy shmancy. I'll keep it simple to start with, to the point, easy to play and use, cross browser compatible and that should be a good start to an HTML5 alternative.

I'm playing UWO but I'm still interested in the remake. UWO has little to no support from the company at this point and is still filled with a lot of bugs (quite a few that they're ignoring). So yea...if I'm at work and I have to pick between playing UWO and a remake on html, I'd go with the remake ^^

Yeah? Cool cool, that's good to know that there are people that would use it.

Well, not to worry, I've already started on it. 🙂
