Post Koei missed the boat

I really think they missed the boat by not re-releasing the Uncharted Waters games in a ps2 collection. The pirate craze with kids and young teens is not as strong as it was a few months ago. Lets face it, money wise it would have been the perfect time for them to release these games again because of the pirate craze. If games like Pirates: Legend of the Black Bucaneer can sell, anything pirate related could. They missed the boat. I think that is a sign they don't plan to ever offer these games again to people outside of Asia. It is depressing.

It would be so simple for them to make Uncharted Waters again, and not the online deal they have made. I mean an overhead view game with superb graphics and detailed alliance, like their Romance of the Three Kingdoms games on PS2. It could have been done. They could have showed everyone that games with a classic feel can still make it in the market. Instead they dropped the ball and created an online game that does not have the look or feel of Uncarted Waters.... not to mention the fact that there are free games like that online... and with Pirates of the Burning Sea coming out I don't think Uncharted Waters Online will make it in the US, people will say it is a knock off of Burning Sea because they don't know any better. Why? Because Koei dropped the ball by not releasing those classic Uncharted Waters games. They could have proved that they were one of the first to make Pirate related games.

Screw Koei, If they don't have sense enough to see a market and future for this game we are still playing 15 years after it release, let another company come along and make one even better. The only requirement for that company would be to play New Horizons first before planning out the game. There have been many failed attempts at trying create the ultimate pirate adventure game, most recently 'Sid Miers Pirates'. It should be an open ended game that can either be played online or offline. And it should be avaliable on PC as well as the consoles (PS3, Xbox,Weii)....there's my two cents!!!

Well if they really want to sell games they could try not trying to sell them to kids.
Seems obvious to me, especially considering the age of this title. What, are we "old" gamers chopped liver? Pfft. Im 24 not 12 or 86.

It is nice to see that Wii got this game for download - I play on emulator all the time and am happy to be finally playing it on my 52 inch TV :-p
