Post sinking ship problem

I'm playing as pietro doing the discovery missions. Everytime I sail around Africa, I get caught up in storms. I find a nearby port, have my ship repaired, only to sink during the next storm! My durability on the ship returns to normal levels, but the slider bar in sail mode never seems to recover. I can't find any new village without being able to sail around Africa....what gives??

yeah well regarding the storms and such ... you know you can buy balm for 1000 gold a pop and that will null a storm instantly even before it starts, just use it right after your first mate says he "thinks" a storm is coming.

as far as getting stuck in storms .... well just get along the coast line and drop ancho, you wont take damage if your anchored when the storm hits. this way you dont have to worry about reparing your boat in the first place if you can avoide the damage to begin with.

To do this is sample, if you have low ingots (gold) drop off all your money in a bank where theres a Round Earth Society at, pull at 1 bar of gold, go there, donate 60k, then half of 20k, then 10k, then 5k, and so on, when you reach below 5k donate all. You should be at 100 within the first donation spree, if not, just repeat what you done the first time, which only requires 1 more bar, easy, fast, and simple.

I've never had a problem with storms. Just travel against the coast and you should have time to drop anchor before any storm. The SEGA version seems to be harder in that storms seem to just come out of no where.
