Hello, folks, salut. I'm new here, but I've been playing the DOS version of UWNH for some years now. Finally, I've found a good uncharted waters fansite!

Anyway, as I mentioned, I've been playing the DOS version. That's fine and all, but I just got a Sega Genesis.

Is the Genesis version of UWNH as good? As I understand it, it's supposed to have slightly worser graphics and sound, but faster loading times (though the DOS version has really small loading times as well).

Is it basically still the same game, in terms of story gameplay? I don't really mind if the game just doesn't look quite as good; it's more convenient for me to play it on a console (I have my own TV and Genesis, but I have to share the PC).

Oh, and no, I don't have a SNES - yet.

Must have rented the Genesis version when my SNES was dead for a while.

Anyway, yeah. It does have slightly lesser graphics and sound, but it is totally the same thing.
I remember something was better about it though... I think storms were either incredibly deadly or incredibly short and painless.
Other than that, same thing.
Though I only played it for a short time. Five day rentals are balls, especially when you're young and have school in the morning.

Hope what little I know helps you out somehow.

There was something weird about the controls... I just know I prefer to emulate the SNES version and not the Genesis version, I'm just not 100% sure why...

the genesis one should be exactly same as the SNES one,maybe it looked better or worse with '16bit' graphics,cant remember how it looked like with SNES/genesis though.
