I am thirty and have also been playing the game since it's release. I recently found this site and was excited to learn of others who enjoy the game as much as I do.

I'll be 29 soon this year. Playing UWNH always bring back the good old memories. Only problem is that I tend to forget stuff about the game and that makes gameplay pretty frustrating at times. I am writing a guide to UWNH and am including all the game data I can get my hands on. And I really mean ALL data. Will take me some time, but hex editing makes it much much easier...

I'm 25. I've been playing the original for 10 years or so. Just got new horizons a couple days ago.

Another 25 here. I never actually owned the original games, I only ever played them once I discovered emulation in my mid teens. UWNH has been my favorite SNES game and probably on my top 10 list of all time, despite the fact that I'm not very good at it! Haha.

I play both the original and UW2. I actually own New Horizons still for my Genesis. I have played the game and won on every single character. My most favorite feat in-game is having over 100 something ports for my faction and over 10 million in the bank. If you have any questions about the game feel free to ask me. B)

I had the game for nintendo and found it recently as a download for pc - what fond memories - I am curious if you have any tips on battles - as I recall - weren't there sea battles and sword fights - I searched battles on the site but did not see anything - thanks - mac

I was born in 1975 (34 by now). I used to play the 1st game on the NES. I just love this game.

For sea battle, you have 2 choices, load your ships with gold and sail around for a bit. Pirates will find you. The other option is whenever your ship touches another ship on the screen, you can right click to pause the game and browse the menus until you find the option to attack (or battle). I think it's about the same process as Gossip. You cannot attak at night nor can pirates attack you at night. You may want to scout ships while they're not close to yours before you attack (under the info menu). If you gossip with their captain before attacking, he'll tell you if he's got lots of valuable (on his way to invest) or if he's broke (going back home).

Arggh! Mastered the game (except the luck part) when I was just a lad of 7 or 8. Me had an early beginning on the high seas.

By the way, this site is a voyager's paradise here online! Thank you so much for providing a place where I can re-live one of the things in my childhood that I enjoyed.

I have found myself to be playing a lot on my gens emulator recently. I wish they could make a new version for us to enjoy.

UWNH taught me much about history and geography (aside from all of the fiction in the game). I believe games like this could benefit today's young generation much more than other stuff they waste their time on.

Again, thank you webmaster! I have looked for a site like this before (years ago). I am glad I finally found it.

I found this site a few years ago and was so happy to learn that other people loved this series as much as I do! I only ever had UWNH but I bought it when it came out (I was 16 at the time). I am 31 now and still play it regularly.

Probably the best thing was to find the soundtrack available here as a free download. I can't tell you how much I have enjoyed listening to the songs on this excellent album, especially "Mast in the Mist". It's a masterpiece!!
