Anyone remembers Dragut from Uncharted Waters?
He does not appear in New Horizon though.

From what I've read in The Barbary Coast: Algeria under the Turks by John B Wolf, he was serving under Khayr-ad-Din and took part in many battles.
He was an important part in the victory at Prevesa (1538). Replaced Khayr after his death and was appointed Reis of the Ottoman fleet by Suleiman.
He was wounded during the siege of Malta (1565) and died later.

I didn't/don't remember him, it has been too long since I played Uncharted Waters.

I wish Koei had made a New Horizons type game based in the 13th century around the time of Marco Polo. Of course most of that journey seems to have been over land, but maybe it could have incorporated trading and trade routes using small ships. Oh well, their newer games haven't appealed to me...

Any information that I provide is based on the SNES version unless otherwise specified. I have thousands of hours into New Horizons and I have played it since it was released in the US on the SNES.

I would include all those characters in my game and also Malta (which was a strategic island right below the port of Syracuse and east of Tunis).
I would include the ports of Jerba, and a few more important ones (Bones,Bougie, Djidjelli,Jerba,Oran) along the coast of North Africa. There should be at least one more between Alexandria and Tunis, and one between Algiers and Ceuta.
Between Amsterdam and Lubeck, I would include Bruges which was an important port in the Middle Age.
I would add a scenario where you play a character from Genoa that is at war against Venice and vice versa instead of having Italy vs Ottoman Empire.
The Knights of St-John would definately be part of it.
So many possibilities.
