Yeah, if there were no dark areas on the map you couldn't get any additional fame from that.

The thing is finishing a map should have given you enough fame to uncover the Japanese ports anyway, even though you might not have been able to get the story ending screen. What was/is your adventure fame at?

If you still have that game, and your fame is high, sail to Zeiton and see if you can trigger a short scene (right off I don't remember if it is triggered in the Pub or somewhere else) where Zipangu is mentioned. If you already saw that scene, sail near to the locations of the Japanese ports and see if you can now discover them.

I thought it was funny when I used the telescope to search the spot for Nagasaki and I got the report of a fleet that was in port. This was before they could be discovered in the game...my biggest complaint about UWNH, a cartographer that can't discover certain ports!?!
