Bandit Kings is one of my favorites. Did you know that it is also based on a novel?

I didn't know this, I have to look for the novel now.

Right now I'm playing three games at the same time (2 are from Koei). I play a little bit with New Horizon, then I play RTK Wall of Fire both on SNES emulator, and The Knight of Lodis on the GBA. Sometimes I play a fourth game (Mario Kart on N64 emulator). 😀

It has been a while since I played Wall of Fire. The English title of the novel that Bandit Kings is based on is Water Margins. It seems that there may be a couple of translated versions.

Any information that I provide is based on the SNES version unless otherwise specified. I have thousands of hours into New Horizons and I have played it since it was released in the US on the SNES.

I did a search online but the cheapest version I found was $25 and I'm not even sure if it's the entire story. I looked at my library site but they don't have it. 😐

There are a few versions of the Water Margin which is also known as Outlaws of the Marsh or as All Men are Brothers, just to name a couple. There have been TV series and movies made based on this novel as well as a number of video games (there even seem to be a few online video games based on the novel).

The site where I play games often (armorgames.com) has many pirate games and even though I like them all, they don't compare to New Horizon because for me this is the best game in it's genre and it has a great replayability while the online flash game get boring fast.

While we're into game related books, here are two more I found while researching for Outlaws of the Marsh.
The Samurai Banner of Furin Kazan (Shingen the Ruler)
The Chronicle of Lord Nobunaga (nobunaga's Ambition).

Yeah, two more games that I have played a good bit. I use to enjoy Shingen, even though it is a tough game at the start especially.

I don't play games that are not translated into English because I don't know what I'm doing.
