Those are some good points about Rio de Janeiro. The bad thing about my choice is that it isn't available until later in the game for two of the characters. One reason that I chose Nagasaki is because of the silver and also because of the ships.

Any information that I provide is based on the SNES version unless otherwise specified. I have thousands of hours into New Horizons and I have played it since it was released in the US on the SNES.

The unusual case has happened to me. Having bought there is a lot of gold in port Veracrus, has set off to sell it in northern Europe. Floating near port Caracas "whirlwind" has come across a sea monster. Further, when has gone to the nearest port, has found out cargoes of my gold have disappeared. Probably, this "whirlwind" carries away all goods from boards...

The tornado or whirlwind is one of the hazards that will happen if you go over a certain spot in the ocean, and yes you will loose all of your sell-able goods. The exact location is 17N 94W using a Theodolite and is the second "space" above the peninsula after leaving Veracruz.

Again, that is a New Horizons topic and this is supposed to be a topic about the first game...Uncharted Waters.

" It is a little about trade "

On one of Russia sites I have read the amusing messages for the first time playing in " new horizons ". The players, which badly understand subtleties of strategy, they do not know as to earn gold. One of them informs, that tries to earn playing maps in cafe, and before him constantly saves game to not lose the received beforehand. Some and at all get in a situation, when can not come up from port, as gold no, and the credit in bank is already taken. Others do not give back gold in bank of Venice, when collect the debts... 🙂

I think, that it is easier to earn all initial капиталл - to open a little деревень and to receive for them money in Lisbon from the collector of exotic. For this purpose Alexandria (river of Nile) is possible to be floating hardly below than port, or to set off to Amazon, and then and hardly below on a map, passing past Rio de Janeiro. Having received initial капиталл, it is easier to begin all from trade in carpets and art in ports Istanbul and Athens. Thus it is possible quickly to type some hundred thousand gold. Further already it is possible to buy the good battle(dashing) ship and to attack fleet of the different countries and pirates gradually developing. It is necessary also to have the good navigators and to buy by it the ships. If to continue trade, that is variant to buy coffee in ports of east Africa (Aden, Massawa, Mecca and Cairo). Behind coffee give the good price in ports of Turkey with benefit about 300 gold for one lot. Also in ports of east Africa sell cheaply amber, which can be sold in ports of northern Europe. And it is a lot of other routes. In San Jorge sell cheaply ivory, in Nagasaki - silver, tea, silk fabric and another. Has noticed, that in ports to northern Europe the large prices of purchase almost on all (except for spice, luxury and some other). It is possible to think and further to describe ten favourable routes.

In case it is necessary зароботать a lot of gold, that is following variant. It is necessary well to develop the character, and also nine navigators (for in fleet in 10 ships), that is to raise a level of attack and navigation even up to 20. Then to buy or to grasp 10 ships with the large place of loading. For the beginning will approach venetian galeass, so on fleet tekkousen, full-rigged ship or barge it is necessary too much gold (for example on full-rigged ship about 4 million gold if to consider guns). Venecian galeass we reconstruct under cargoes with a minimum quantity of a command, and the guns can be left. In this case till 60 men by each ship, and if the guns are left, free place it turns out on 840 lots. It is necessary to the character also to serve at the king of one of the countries to a maximum rank - "duke", and also to employ the bookkeeper. For the best benefit we find tax-free permit of the country (is sold in weapon or at the king). Even if no tax-free permit, the bookkeeper will throw off in trade tent a floor of the price of the goods. The most favourable trade in game is a gold, but to buy it(him) on 9 ships (tenth for meal and water), it is necessary to have also about 4 million gold. Here I examine the worst variant, when the gold costs(stands) on a ceiling price 1260, and the bookkeeper throws off up to 630. Before trade of gold it is possible to carry already specified coffee from Aden in Turkey or silver from Nagasaki in northern Europe thus to save good капиталл. The port from Europe, where sell gold - Madeira, costs to nearest it there more dearly(more expensively) everything, but with a rank "duke" and bookkeeper it not a problem. The port is necessary for grasping under the flag. In the worse variant buying gold on 630 and selling it in ports of northern Europe on 1050-1130 (thus coming each time in different port, so at sale of one party(set) of the goods of procurement prices strongly fall) the benefit in 420-500 gold for one unit turns out. That is from one ship it is of 350-420 thousand gold., and from nine ships there than 3 millions gold, and it is the worse variant! In other ports, for example, Veracruz and Rio de Janeiro the gold can be got in 2-3 times more cheaply, but the procurement prices always quickly grow and the marks 630 reach ... Though, superfluous one million here to earn it will turn. If to have a merchant marine fleet from tekkousen or full-rigged ship to earn it will turn out little bit more.

It is funny that people think it is hard to get gold to begin the game. I have heard of people using the collect debt mission and keeping the money.

When I start a game I go right to Athens and start trading and in less time than it takes to go down the Nile or any of the other schemes I will have enough money for the Crusaders Armor, the Rune Sword, the cartography skill, a fleet of ships and more than 60 million gold. I have enough for all that by the end of July (well, maybe not quite that much gold) and the game starts on May 17 so it is around the first of June when I start trading. Ok, it might be a little tedious, but it is the fast way to build up a lot of gold.

In New Horizons that is supposed to keep pirates from attacking your character. At the start, when you choose the character you will be given the option to change their name and that is when you would enter the name Black Beard.

I have never tried this and I have heard some say it doesn't work the way that it is supposed to work.

This case to me has met for the first time, or I any more do not remember, if such happened earlier. It is district of southern America, exact coordinates 17 S 82 W on theodolite. Before it there was any fog, and the navigator has informed me that on the image. After that I have found out, that at me one of the ships was gone. 😐

Usually a good first mate or chief navigator will tell you all of this. There are a number of spots where you can loose a ship. I am compiling a list of locations, so if you find others let me know! 🙂

Sometimes you loose the ship and the navigator. That is one of the reasons I try to get navigators that have a decent luck stat. I stay away from navigators like Henry Mancine, Louis Fareiro, Omar Kashani, Carmine Ragussa, and Ivan Soledad. Those all have TERRIBLE luck, just check with the fortune teller.
