A Brief History of Pirate Games

by Greg | October 29th, 2014

I’ve been running this website for several years and occasionally I get someone e-mailing me asking: “I love Uncharted Waters: New Horizons – is there anything else you can recommend that is also good?”

Well, I had not really been keeping up on gaming very much ever since I got out of high school, but the other day I did find this great video which goes over a history of pirate video games from their beginning all the way to the present day. Included were a lot of games that I wanted to try after seeing them here!

Enjoy:

That was very interesting, thanks for sharing. I may have to try some of the adventure games, but there were more than I realized of the strategy rpgs!

The one called just “Pirates” by Microprose was called “Pirates Gold” on Sega Genesis. Unfortunately, it portrays you as inevitably getting older, losing health, and losing your precious ability to win duels.
